Children, Adolescents, Families and Adults

Stacey DiGrazia, is a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor in the St. Charles office. Stacey earned her Master’s Degree in Clinical-Counseling Psychology from Illinois State University. She works with children, adolescents, and adults to provide support, develop new ways of relating to emotions and thoughts, identify patterns, learn tools to manage difficult emotions and situations, and effectively implement changes.

Stacey works well in resolving mood disorders, anxiety, emotional and behavioral concerns, depression, ADHD, self-esteem, self-injury, anger management, stress management, and phobias. Her solutions are practical and based upon the latest thinking in psychotherapy research, e.g., cognitive behavioral therapy and mindfulness.  Therapy based upon mindfulness is particularly effective in reducing anxiety, depression and stress in adults, children and adolescents.

Life has a lot to throw at you and all too often it is hard to juggle all those balls.  Problems at home, at work, and at school all take their toll.  Issues that just used to roll off your back now seem overwhelming. I find Mindfulness a helpful method to cultivate contentment and well being because when we are fully engaged in the present moment, we are not lost in feeling remorse for the past and we are not fretting or anxious about the future. Believe it or not, at least a third of your worries should get trashed. Being present reduces your stress, improves your memory and sporting performance, increases your concentration and even helps you sleep.

Children, Adolescents, Families

I use an integrative approach to therapy utilizing techniques from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Skills training, Family Systems, Experiential Therapy, and Solution Focused Therapy.   I work collaboratively with each client to find what approaches fit best. I enjoy engaging children and adolescents with enthusiastic, understanding, open, and interactive style.  To observe significant long lasting changes while working with children and adolescents I find it important to work closely with parents, families, and school when needed.

Individual Counseling

I enjoy assisting adults in building their self-awareness, finding meaning, identifying strengths, making changes, overcoming struggles, managing anxiety and depression, and finding balance within their lives.

Stacey gets regular feedback from her clients complimenting her even-tempered non-judgmental way of being both direct and challenging in her work.
